Managements Rules & Class Structures
Unless otherwise noted, the following rules apply to all pocket bike classes:
* Bikes must be rigid frame with wheels no larger than 6.5"
* Engines must be petrol/oil burning two strokes. No engine enhancers such as NOS are allowed and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.
* No electronic ignition systems may be used.
* Any pocket bike race class with one competitor, will be run with the next highest class and scored for separate points.
Unless otherwise noted, the following rules apply to all Motard bike classes:
All bikes must comply with these guidelines at all times.
*Overflow bottles for oil must be fitted (must have)
*All bikes to use the control muffler (dual is permissible)
*Oil drain and filler plugs and brake bolts safety wired
*Handlebars must have ends plugged
*Footpeg sliders must be fitted
MINIMOTO..
Novice Class..
Juniors only: age 6-15.
Bikes: Chinese air cooled / CAG
Specs: Modifications allowed to clutch and clutch springs, air filter, carburetor, exhaust, timing keys, reed material, sparkplug and wheel bearings open. Chinese origin tires only. No porting and machining what-so-ever. Only the original three ports are permitted. Only Chinese based CAG cases are permitted. Programmable ignition systems must not be used.
Class 1..
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: CAG and Pro CAG
Specs CAG: Modifications allowed to clutch and clutch springs, air filter, carburetor, exhaust, timing keys, reed material, sparkplug and wheel bearings open. Chinese origin tires only. No porting and machining what-so-ever. Only the original three ports are permitted. Only Chinese based CAG cases are permitted. Programmable ignition systems must not be used.
Specs Pro CAG: Modifications allowed to clutch and clutch springs, air filter, carburetor, exhaust, timing keys, reed material, sparkplug and wheel bearings open. Tires open. Porting and flowing open. Only Chinese based CAG cases are permitted. Programmable ignition systems must not be used.
Class 2..
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: Chinese Water-cooled Std. Up to 50cc.
Specs: Modifications allowed, up to 19mm carburetor, reeds and reed material open, sparkplug and wheel bearings open. No porting or machining. Chinese origin tires only. Programmable ignition systems must not be used. Must run control muffler.
Class 3..
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: Chinese Water-cooled Pro and Air-cooled Elite. Up to 50cc.
Specs Chinese W/C Pro: Modifications allowed to clutch and clutch springs, air filter, carburetor, timing keys, reeds and reed material open, spark plug and wheel bearings open. Porting is open. Must run Chinese barrel and cases. Programmable ignition systems must not be used. Must run control muffler.
Specs Air Elite: unlimited modifications to all parts of bike but must be naturally aspirated. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used. Must run control muffler.
Open Water-cooled Class..
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: Blata, pollini, Bizeta, DM, and GRC. Etc¡K
Specs: One-off product acceptable. Motors are to be water cooled, up to 50cc 3, 4, 5 OR 6 port barrels. Bikes may have unlimited modifications to all parts of bike but must be naturally aspirated. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used. Must run control muffler.
MOTARD
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: Chinese Thumper up to 160cc
Specs: 4 stroke machines only. Lay down engines only. Unlimited engine modifications, barrel must be 160cc, but actual capacity is open. Must run control muffler.
SCOOTERS
Juniors: ages 6-15 or Seniors: ages 16+
Bikes: Road going scooters.
Specs: Up to 250cc. Unlimited engine modifications, but must not exceed 250cc. Must run control muffler.
Operational Officials
Starters-Responsible for the grid and start of the race
Marshals-Responsible for flagging the portion of the track they are assigned.
Lap Board-Responsible for lap counting during a race event.
Time keepers and scorers-Responsible for lap times and end of event class scores
Technical Inspector-Determines as per the rules outlined in this booklet whether the machine complies with its class.
Key Officials and Operational Officials-Must practice safe and fair judgment during a race event as outlined by the rules of management.
FLAGS
Green Flag
Go! The race has started. Waving after the race has started indicates that the race is still in progress and there are no issues further down the track.
Yellow Flag
Caution! There is something to be aware of ahead of you on or just off the track. Do not pass any rider when the yellow flag is shown. Keep your position until you can no longer see a yellow flag at flag points. If you are found to be overtaking under the yellow flag, you will be point scored in last position.
Red Flag
The red flag indicates that there is a major problem on the track. Come to a stop as quickly and safely as possible, put up a warning hand if at all possible to indicate to the riders behind that you are stopping. Return to the pit grid slowly and safely.
Blue Flag
The blue flag is used to let a slower rider know that there is a faster rider about to overtake them. It will be pointed at the slower rider to avoid confusion. The slower rider should NEVER alter their chosen course or brake to get out of the way of the overtaking rider. Just be aware of the situation.
Black Flag
The black flag is used to indicate that an individual rider is having a problem, most likely mechanical but possibly in their conduct on the track. The black flag is pointed at the rider in question to reduce confusion. The rider who receives the black flag should finish the lap they are on and come into the pit area where a track official will inform them of the problem. If a rider ignores a black flag they may be expelled from the race or practice session with no pints accrued.
White Flag
This flag indicates that there is one lap remaining in the race.
Chequered Flag
Congratulations! The race has successfully ended. Please complete one final cool down lap at a reduced speed and exit the track at the designated area.
Requirements for ALL competitors
ALL RIDERS:
Must make yourself familiar with the following:
* With the handbook and rules
* Must be fluent in the use and meaning of the safety flags used on the track
* Must be a member of AASA before entering the track racing circuit
* Must have signed and understood the Indemnity and medical forms
* Must have ambulance cover
* Must have Medicare or private health insurance
It is the responsibility of all riders and members to have their own information up to date and current. Proof of AASA membership is required at all practice and race meets prior to access to the track circuit.
All final decisions made by the Race Director cannot be protested.
Minors: All minors must have a legal guardian present to sign all waivers and must be present for the duration of the event. I f a legal guardian is not present the minor will be unable to compete.
Age Limitations: A rider is classed as a junior when they are aged less than 16 years of age. Under some circumstances a junior aged 15 years of age, who will soon turn 16 years of age may under the instruction of the Race Director, be able to move to the senior classes. If a junior moves up prior to the age of 16 and participates in a race, the rider cannot return to junior class.
Alcohol or Drugs: At NO time during the event is alcohol or drugs permitted to be consumed by any competitor, team affiliates or visitors. No rider is to be under the influence of alcohol or any drugs during an even. If a competitor or team affiliate is in breach of the above, the rider and or team will forfeit all points gained on the day.
Protective Gear: Helmets must have an Australian approval rating of AS1698 or FIM approval rating. Helmet must have full face shield or goggles and must be made of a shatter-proof material and be in the closed position when racing.
Suitable protective attire made of durable fabric must cover the body. Suits made of leather or a combination of both leather and fabric with protective armor on shoulders, elbows and knees is ideal.
Back (spine) protectors or built in back protection is optional but a great idea.
Footwear must be closed in with ankle coverage.
Gloves must be made of leather or durable fabric and must be in good shape without holes. Severely damaged or worn gloves are unacceptable.
Bike Capacities, KW/HP output: All riders, when instructed, must show proof of their bikes capacity and/or kw/hp output to be able classed for racing. E.G. Manufacturers handbook.
PROTEST
Protests will be issued at the end of the day proceedings. In case where a rider protests against another rider¡¦s bike, the protesting rider is to pay a fee of $50.00 to the clerk of the course. The accused rider is to also pay a fee of $50.00 to the Clerk of the course. If the protest is found to be valid or if the accused refuses the bike in question to be checked by the technical director, the accused will forfeit any pints gained on the day, lose the $50.00 and also play no further part in the days racing. The rider protesting will have their $50.00 refunded.
If the protest is dismissed, the protestor will forfeit the $50.00 and the accused will have their $50.00 refunded.
The bike owner must be present and disassemble the protested bike under the instructions and supervision of the technical director. All rebuilding work will be completed by the bike owner.
Rider disqualification and fines for offenses
1st Offence - Rider will forfeit any points gained on that day, be fined $50.00, which will be kept by the Club, will play no further part in the days racing and will be sent home.
2nd Offence - Rider will forfeit any points gained on that day, be fined $50.00, which will be kept the Club, will play no further part in the days racing and will be sent home. The rider will also be banned for 3 months.
3rd Offence - Rider will forfeit any points gained on that day, be fined $50.00, which will be kept by the Club, will play no further part in the days racing and will be sent home. The 3rd offence will incur a lifetime ban.
Fines for other offenses
1st Offence - The offender will forfeit any points gained on that day, be fined $50.00, which will be kept by the Club, will play no further part in the days racing and will be sent home.
2nd Offence - The offender will forfeit any points gained on that day, be fined $100.00 which will be kept by the Club and be banned for three months.
3rd Offence - The offender will forfeit any points gained on that day and will incur a lifetime ban.
Technical Inspections and Bike Specifications
Brakes: Must have operational front and rear disc brakes which can be cable or hydraulic operated. Cables are not to be frayed.
Engine Stop: Operational engine stop (kill) switch must be fitted to the handle bars.
Leaks: No oil or fuel leaks.
Coolant: No coolant or additives allowed, Water ONLY.
Fuel: Unleaded or lead fuels only, octane rating and manufacturer open. NO methanol, NOS or Nitro methane permitted.
Tyres: Tyres must be in good condition and not showing any signs of excessive wear, no canvas showing.
Front fork assembly: No excessive play in the steering head assembly and head stocks must be covered.
Wheel Bearings: Wheel bearings must not have excessive play.
Axles: Front and rear spindle and spindle nuts must be tight.
Chains & Gears: Chain and sprockets must be in good condition. Chain guard is to be fitted and adequate.
Frame: No cracks in chassis or wheels. All nuts and bolts are to be secure.
Body: Bike must have a full or half faring adequately fixed.
Throttle: Throttle must have snap shut when released.
Foot Pegs: Foot pegs must be fitted and may be fixed or spring up type. Pegs must be plastic, rubber or plastic coated steel. Bare steel pegs are not permitted. All outer edges are to be rounded.
Handlebars: Handlebar ends must be fitted or bar ends solidly internally plugged.
Mufflers and exhaust: No bike is to exceed 84dB. All mufflers must be packed and upkept. All W/C Minimoto bikes and A/C Elite Minimoto bikes must run a control muffler. Cags are under the limit, but if your bike is exceptionally loud you will be asked to run one or re-pack your muffler.
Gearing: Gearing ratios are open in all classes.
Seals and Bearings: Seals and bearings are open in all classes.
Throttles and Levers: Throttles and brake levers are open in all classes. All levers must be blunt ended and no sharp edges.
Race Numbers: Race numbers must be a minimum height of 60mm must be displayed on the front and on both rear sides of the bike and easily read from a distance of 15 metres. Yellow numbers on black background. These are available for sale through Hansen Racing for a small price.
Accessories: Extra accessories such as mirrors, side stands must be removed prior to racing to avoid damage to the track.
Additional Requirements
Noise Restrictions: No bike is to exceed 84dB. All mufflers must be packed. All W/C Minimoto bikes and A/C Elite Minimoto bikes must run a control muffler. Cags are under the limit, but if your bike is exceptionally loud you will be asked to run one or re-pack your muffler.
Smoking: NO smoking in the pit lane, grid area or track circuit.
Fuelling: NO smoking while refueling.
Walking pace: Walking pace in the pit areas at all times and helmets must be worn at all times when riding a bike. Failure to adhere will result in your 1st offence and so on.
Scrutineering: All bikes to be used on the racing surface must pass scrutineering. This includes spare or back up bikes. No bike may enter onto the racing circuit during a race meeting without having passed scrutineering. If a bike is involved in an incident, then the bike is to be re-scrutineered to be assessed for a return to safe racing.
Any hoses carrying fluid must be clamped or safety wired.
Catch tanks must be fitted to any drain hoses.
Determination of Placing Points

If the accumulation total is equal between two or more riders at the end of race proceedings, the rider who finished further to the front in the last race will be deemed the winner.
A minimum of two flag marshals will be stationed around the track during racing.
Flag marshal, start and finish line officials shall be drawn from volunteers on the day. The Clerk of the Course is responsible for allocation of duties and instruction of volunteers.
Junior novice class must be run, regardless of numbers, on their own. NO EXCEPTIONS.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The code of conduct has been developed to provide competitors, officials and parents with a guide to appropriate behavior at all race meets. Please note the following points:
Competitors:
Must ALWAYS comply with these rules.
Bullying on the track or outside of the track WILL NOT tolerated, it will incur a lifetime ban.
Competitors are responsible for their own conduct as well as the conduct of any person associated with them such as mechanic, parent or team owner.
Most officials have volunteered their services for the smooth, efficient and fair conduct of a race meet. Avoid arguing with an official. If you disagree with a ruling quietly check with the official on how the decision was reached.
Control your temper. Verbal and physical abuse of officials or other competitors and deliberately provoking other is not acceptable or permissible behavior.
Treat all competitors as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take advantage of another participant.
Avoid the use of coarse or derogatory language.
Compete within your skill levels. Only try to extend these skills when there is no likelihood of danger to others ands personal risk is controlled.

Our inaugural race series will be named, 'Summer Race Series'.
It will be a 6 Round Series. Rnd 1 commences on the 1st March.
Pricing is $50 for Adults. $35 for kids. Also must have an AASA License, $55/yearly or $20/each meet.
Minimoto riders can ride in as many Minimoto classes as they wish.
If say a Minimoto rider also wants to ride motard, then he/she will be required to pay double. Same goes if a scooter rider wishes to ride motard.
Riders do not have to feel the need to compete if they don't wish, any rider can still ride in qualifying, heats and the final just for 'track experience(just can't stop on track or ride in a manner that would endanger others). Your experience on track is what you make of it.
Trophy's and certificates will be awarded to the place getters.
Please make sure you read and fully understand all that is put in front of you.
The main track is also going to be in use with a car meet, it will be a very big day. Make sure that anyone for the 'Small Wheels Racing' events, specify that to a gate attendant if you are stopped.
